Judy Halligan Willingham and I discussed the possibility of conducting another MPHS reunion - always dangerous. One of our thoughts was a 4 day cruise - and another was a more traditional Chicago based reunion with a downtown focus.  Think Navy Pier and the Museum of Science and Industry with maybe an architectural cruise as an afternoon activity. But KISS - Keep in Sweet and Simple.

Questions

  1. Do we want to do this?

  2. Will people come?

  3. Will you come? Will you help?

  4. All 60’s classes or just 65-66-67?

  5. 2024 or 2025?

  6. Cruise out of Tampa (easy to fly into and get to the port) or stay in Chicago or somewhere else?

  7. We could do a Disney cruise and people could bring their families but that may turn off people who do not have grandchildren.

General thoughts on an MPHS Cruise Reunion

Cruises from Tampa run about $400 a person for a two-person cabin (inside) if you book directly, but we could also use a travel agent and get a group rate covering stateroom costs, food, and entertainment. Some people would probably do the cruise plus stay on in Florida for a longer vacation on their own. We could do this in the winter of 2024 or 2025 in a fairly simple manner. We would select a cruise, and a large bar on the ship for our MPHS Meeting point, and set up a schedule of meet times - say after lunch, and after dinner.  Or, we could schedule some meals and activities together but also encourage people to contact their friends from MPHS and schedule their own get-togethers.

Please let us know that you received this so we know that our Google Group email is working. You can send and receive emails to the entire committee using the one email. Such a deal!
